Gallery Le Sutra is pleased to announce "On Line", an exhibition of Drawing as an independent form within the notion of contemporary art practices offering a broad perspective on this complex, expansive and energized field of art.

Contemporary artists are increasingly discovering that drawing is something unique and different from painting. Expanding the definition of drawing from use of line to use of color, shading and other elements, the exhibition is lushly illustrated by a wide range of highly accomplished artists like Akbar Padamsee, Sudhir Patwardhan, K T Shiva Prasad, Madhao Imartey, Ratnadeep Gopal Adivrekar, Dilip Ranade, Viraj Naik, Bharati Kapadia, Yogesh Rawal, Jehangir Jani, Yashwant Deshmukh, Mithu Joardar, Prasanna Ghaisas, Santosh More, Anand Prabhudesai, Indrajit Prasad, Prashant Salvi, Dileep Sharma, Vijayndra Sekhon, Tanuja Rane, Nilesh Shilkar, Javed Mulani, Tushar Potdar, Rajesh Wankhede.

"On Line" delves into the essential and far-reaching concepts of this medium, exploring surface, mark, space, composition, scale, materials, and intentionality in turn. This exhibition aims to stimulate open-minded and contemporary interest in drawing activity- physically, creatively and cognitively. It represents many perspectives on drawing in the field of fine art. It endeavors to question preconceptions and to encourage the potential for drawing as an independent form of art.

Preview Sunday 5th February, 2012 at 12noon onwards.

The exhibition continues till 26th February, 2012 daily between 12pm to 8pm.
